Nunthorpe residents expect high standards, and that is exactly what our roofers in Nunthorpe deliver. Done Right offers full roofing services across TS7, including new roofs, repairs, flat roof replacements on extensions and dormers, and fascia and soffit upgrades. The village sits on the southern edge of Middlesbrough with the Cleveland Hills close by, so roofs here catch plenty of weather. We know the area well and plan each job to keep disruption to your home and street to a minimum.
Larger detached homes deserve better than a cheap patch, so we use high quality tiles, breathable membranes, dry ridge systems and proper lead work. We have more than 1,500 completed projects behind us, including over 600 new roofs, and we hold SafeContractor and CHAS accreditation. All work is fully guaranteed, quotes are free, and you can pay by credit card if that suits you.

Slate has a very long life because it shrugs off UV and water and is rarely affected by changes in climate. Individual slates that crack, slip or break can be replaced quickly and cheaply.

Often visible from the street after high winds. Each gap lets rain reach the felt and battens.
Bubbled wallpaper, peeling paint or brown rings upstairs usually mean water is already getting in.
Ridge, hip and verge mortar breaks down with frost, leaving tiles that can lift in the next storm.
Moss, grit and debris in the gutters send water back under the roof edge and down the walls.
If you can see light through the roof from the loft, rain and cold air can get through too.
Standing water, blisters or splits on a felt flat roof are a sign the covering is near the end of its life.
Nunthorpe grew rapidly from the 1960s onwards, and most homes here are detached and semi-detached houses on private estates, with a smaller number of older properties around the original village and along Guisborough Road. Many of the 1960s and 1970s houses have shallow concrete tile roofs, flat roofed garages and box dormers that are now reaching the end of their life. Flat roofs on dormers and extensions are a frequent cause of damp ceilings, especially where the old felt has blistered and split. Higher ground towards the Cleveland Hills brings strong westerly winds that can lift ridge and verge tiles. Fitting dry verge systems and replacing dormer felt with GRP or EPDM solves most of the problems we come across in Nunthorpe.
The importance of repairing minor roof damage is easy to underestimate. A small leak and the damp patch it leaves can grow into a problem that weakens the structure of your Nunthorpe home and leads to a much bigger repair bill.

Not usually. Most leaks come from a loose, cracked or slipped tile or slate, failed flashing or a tired valley, and can be repaired on their own. A full re-roof is only needed when the roof system as a whole has failed or the roof is no longer safe. We will tell you honestly which applies to your Nunthorpe home.
Get them replaced as soon as possible, before rain reaches the felt and timbers underneath. Replacing tiles safely is a skilled job, so please do not climb up yourself. Contact your local Nunthorpe team and we will match the tile, fix it properly and check the surrounding roof while we are there.
It depends on the extent of the damage, the age of the roof and the materials it is made from. We survey the roof, show you what we find and explain the options. Where a repair is the sensible choice we will repair it. Sometimes a full replacement is the only lasting solution, and we will explain why.
Leaks are often the first sign. Check your Nunthorpe roof and gutters twice a year for cracked, slipped or missing tiles, loose ridge tiles and a build-up of grit in the gutters. Indoors, look for damp patches, bubbled or peeling wallpaper, cracked paint or stained plasterboard. The longer a problem is left, the more it costs to put right.
Only in very exceptional circumstances, such as a roof that is structurally unsafe. In almost every case you can stay in your Nunthorpe home while we work.
For a Nunthorpe home, cost depends on the roof size, the number of hips and valleys, whether dormers or flat sections are included, and the tile you choose. Detached houses naturally cost more than semis. For comparison, re-roofing a typical semi-detached property with clay tiles could cost anything between £3,500 and £5,500. We offer a free site survey followed by a fixed written quote with no surprises. Call 01642 549811 to book.
